Logitech Z5500 Digital Review

Logitech Z5500 Digital speakers (which can be found online for less than £200) comes with 4 satellites, 1 centre channel, an absolutely gigantic subwoofer (for a computer speaker system), an infrared remote and a classy amplifier-like module that can accept both digital (optical and coaxial) and analogue (3 stereo jacks) connections.

Catering to the notion that "more is better", Logitech lavished the Logitech Z5500 with 505 watts of RMS power: 62w channeled to each satellite speaker; 69w to the centre speaker; and last but not least an astounding 188w to the subwoofer that features a 10" driver.

And this abundant power is demonstrated richly through the Logitech Z5500 Digital's sonic performance, which ranks among the best computer speakers I've heard for a long time. In particularly if you wish to disturb your neighbour long into the night there has never been a better product at doing so - the Logitech Z5500 churns out an insane level of volume, yet is competent enough to maintain sonical fidelity.

Even better, the flexible control centre allows manual adjustments of the subwoofer and satellite levels. Meaning? If you're a tweak freak, you'll be delighted that you could impose your own preference on what eventually comes out from the speaker sound system, drastically improving its market appeal.

Of course I couldn't comment on the sound quality of Logitech Z5500 computer speaker system without mentioning its awesome subwoofer. Rivalling quite a few dedicated home theatre subwoofers in terms of size, its inclusion in the package is justified the moment you gear yourself up for a gaming or DVD session. Thunderous explosions and deep quality rumbling that you can feel in your bones are but some of the ways I could describe how this subwoofer enhances your aural experience.

Although more expensive when compared to other computer speakers on the market, the Logitech Z5500 Digital is worth every penny largely thanks to its exemplary bass extension stemming from a solid subwoofer.
